VINTAGE 1972 MERCIER 2CHAIN FIXIE
These rare French Classics from St. Etienne were only imported to the US for three years, 1969-72, by the Beacon and Supply Company in Oakland, CA. Three models were imported, the 100, the 200, and the 300. The Mercier 300 was made with (French gauge) Reynolds tubing.
Now, this one is a two chain fixed wheel; one chain to go and one to slow. The NEW TA cranks are each coupled to a 15 tooth freewheel to give a comfortable 61 inch gear. The flip-flop hub and rear wheel are new; both wheels have aluminum rims. The lugged frame and chrome fork ends were typically considered to be hallmarks of quality at the time this bike was made.
Use the new pair of 9/16"x20tpi pedals or your own standard pedals. Frame size is 22".
